RIMC stands for Rashtriya Indian Military College. It is the Entrance Exam conducted twice in a year for admission into 8th standard. RIMC is a type of Public school which is located in Dehradun in which boys are trained for Indian Defence Services such as Indian Air Force, Indian Army and Indian Navy. Only boys are allowed to take admission in RIMC. There is only one vacancy for a state and if a state is heavily populated then there are two vacancies. RIMC Exam’s Eligibility Criteria:
- Only boys are allowed to apply for this entrance exam.
- Candidates should be in the age group of eleven and half years to thirteen years.
- The admissions will be done for 8th class.
- Candidates should be studying in 7th class or have passed 7th standard during admission in RIMC.
- Candidate should be physically fit as per medical standards described by RIMC.
RIMC Exam Pattern:
- There will be two phases i.e. written examination and oral viva.
- Written exam includes questions from Mathematics, English and General Knowledge.
- The exam language will be English or Hindi.
- The Viva voce will be of 50 marks. Those students who have cleared written examination are only allowed to give viva voce. This test is used to check the intelligence level and confidence of the selected candidate.
- Minimum of 50% marks in every subject is required for qualifying the Exam.

RIMC Syllabus:
Mathematics: It includes Number System, HCF and LCM, Square and Square Roots, Average , Ratio , Profit and Loss, Percentages, Distance and Time, Simple Interest, Factorization, Lines and Angles, Triangle, Quadrilateral, Parallelogram and Polygons, Area, Cube and Cuboid.
English: Synonyms and Antonyms, One Word Substitution, Idioms and Phrases, Essay, Story and Letter Writing, Correcting Sentence Errors.
General Knowledge: It includes History, Geography, Civics, knowledge of Sports, Current National and International Issues and General Awareness subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Bio.
RIMC Scholarship:
Scholarship is given by the various State Governments. The Scholarship amount may differs from state to state and is in the range of 10,000 to 20,000 that depends only on the Merit list.
